What Are Steel Ventilation Canopies?

Steel ventilation canopies are often used in commercial catering and manufacturing environments to allow the controlled flow of air to and from an environment. They carry away hot air and odours to help keep the kitchen at a suitable temperature to work in.

Commercial applications also tend to use ventilated ceilings and ventilation canopies to allow the flow of air into an environment, such as a kitchen.

What Types Of Canopies Are There?

There are two main types of steel ventilation canopies, steel wall canopies and steel island canopies. There are several subtypes depending on whether or not your canopy in being used for extraction, ventilation or condensing.

Steel Wall Canopies

Steel wall canopies are often slightly triangular in their profile, and they often have stainless steel wall cladding incorporated beneath them to protect the wall from head damage. This makes them the ideal kitchen canopies for smaller units.

Steel Island Canopies

Steel island canopies are usually suspended from the roof or ceiling and are similar to ventilated ceilings. They span a greater footprint than a wall canopy, and commonly make use of a stainless steel services chamber with a riser to provide support for gas manifolds, water and electric supplies.
